Project Abstract

Project Title: Study Mate: A Student Academic Management and Learning Support System

Students often experience difficulties managing their study materials, academic tasks, revision activities, and learning progress because the information they need is usually scattered across notebooks, social media platforms, messaging applications, and different websites. This can make studying less organized, cause students to lose important learning resources, and make it difficult for them to monitor their academic progress.
The proposed project, Study Mate, aims to develop a user-friendly academic management and learning support system that provides students with a centralized platform for organizing and improving their study activities. The system will allow students to create accounts, manage subjects, create and access study notes, organize academic tasks, practice using quizzes, and monitor their learning progress.
Study Mate will use a database to securely store and retrieve user accounts, subjects, notes, quiz questions, tasks, and progress records. The project will be developed using suitable web or mobile programming technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a database platform such as Firebase. The development process will involve gathering user requirements, designing the system and database, implementing the main features, testing the system, and evaluating its usability.
The expected outcome is a functional Study Mate system that enables students to access their academic resources from one platform, manage their study activities, practice through quizzes, and track their performance. The system is expected to improve the organization of study materials, encourage regular revision, and provide students with a convenient digital learning companion. The project will demonstrate how software development and database technology can be applied to address common academic management challenges faced by tertiary-level students.
