Project Abstract
School Attendance Management System
Project Abstract
Introduction
Taking attendance manually with paper registers is time-consuming and prone to errors, especially
in large classes. This project proposes a simple system that allows a teacher to record and
manage student attendance digitally.
Problem Statement
Paper-based attendance is slow to record, difficult to search, and hard to summarize for reports. A
digital system can save time and produce accurate, easy-to-retrieve attendance records.
Objectives
To design a system that allows a teacher to: register students into a class; mark students present
or absent for a given day; view attendance history for a student or class; and generate simple
attendance reports.
Scope
The system covers student registration, daily attendance marking, attendance history viewing, and
basic reporting for a single class or a small number of classes, suited to a school project scale.
Methodology and Technologies
The system will be built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the interface, Python (Flask) for the
backend logic, and SQLite as a lightweight database for storing student and attendance records.
Expected Outcome
A working prototype that lets a teacher register students, mark daily attendance, and view or print Attendance reports for a class
AI Feedback
Good full-stack project with both interface and database.
