Project Abstract
This project presents a relational database management system built on a local XAMPP stack (MySQL/MariaDB and PHP) to optimize operations for a Zambian restaurant. By centralizing data management, the system bridges frontline customer feedback with back-of-house inventory control, replacing inefficient manual record-keeping with a structured SQL solution. The system tracks real-time stock levels for essential staples like mealie meal, meat cuts, and local produceautomatically flagging critical depletion thresholds and logging restock events to prevent menu shortages. Simultaneously, it gathers structured ratings and qualitative reviews on food, service, and traditional dishes to help management identify dining trends. Ultimately, this integrated database improves supply chain reliability, minimizes ingredient stockouts, and delivers actionable, data-driven insights to elevate both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
