Project Abstract

This project proposes a web-based service platform that connects people in Zambia with trusted water-delivery providers and solar-power technicians. The platform responds to common challenges such as unreliable access to clean water, power interruptions, and the difficulty of finding affordable, verified service providers quickly. Through one website, households, small businesses, schools, and community organisations will be able to request water deliveries, schedule tank cleaning or water-storage support, book solar installation and repair services, compare providers, and make secure mobile-money payments.
Service providers will create profiles showing their location, availability, prices, services, customer ratings, and contact details. Customers will be able to search by area, request urgent assistance, track bookings, and leave reviews after a service is completed. The platform will also allow providers to receive more customers and manage bookings more efficiently.
By bringing water and solar services into a single accessible digital marketplace, the project aims to save time, improve trust between customers and providers, support local entrepreneurs, and increase access to essential services. The platform will be designed to work well on mobile phones, since many users may access it through mobile internet.
