Project Abstract

The Funeral Contribution System is a database-driven extension of the web-based application developed to improve the management of financial contributions during funeral events. The initial system used HTML, CSS, JavaScript and LocalStorage to record and track contributions. This project enhances the system by introducing a structured relational database for organized and persistent data storage. The objective is to manage contributors, funeral events, contributions and financial records while improving data accuracy, integrity and accessibility. The methodology involves identifying data requirements, designing an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), creating related tables using primary and foreign keys, implementing SQL queries, and testing data entry and retrieval. The expected outcome is an improved system that provides reliable storage, efficient record retrieval, reduced duplication and accurate financial summaries, while demonstrating practical database management concepts.
