Online Hair Salon Booking System
Project Abstract
Hair salons typically manage appointments by phone calls or walk-ins, which can lead to double bookings, long waiting times, and miscommunication about prices or availability. This project proposes a simple web application that lets customers view hairstyles and prices, then book an appointment online.
Problem Statement
Manual booking methods are inefficient and give customers no easy way to check available time slots or compare services before visiting. A digital booking system can reduce scheduling conflicts and improve the customer experience.
Objectives
To build a web application that allows customers to: browse available hairstyles with their prices; select a preferred date and time; and book an appointment online. The system will also let the salon view and manage incoming bookings.
Scope
The system covers hairstyle/price listing, date-and-time selection, and appointment booking, all running client-side in the browser as a static website. It excludes online payment processing and server-side storage, and is intended as a simple, easy-to-demonstrate school project.
Methodology and Technologies
The system will be built as a purely static website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript only, with no server-side language or database. Hairstyles, prices, and appointment bookings will be stored and managed directly in the browser using JavaScript and localStorage.
Expected Outcome
A working prototype where a customer can browse styles and prices, pick a date/time, and submit a booking, while the salon can view a list of upcoming appointments
