Project Abstract
ME Maintenance Manager
Introduction
Equipment downtime due to missed, delayed, or poorly documented maintenance is a major challenge in healthcare institutions, laboratories, and other organizations that rely on critical equipment. Traditionally, organizations use manual paper logs or spreadsheets to track maintenance schedules. This approach is prone to human error, data loss, and lacks real-time alerts or reminders. As a result, equipment often breaks down unexpectedly, leading to service disruptions and increased operational costs.
This project proposes ME Maintenance Manager,a web-based system designed to digitize, centralize, and automate equipment maintenance records to improve efficiency and reliability.
Problem Statement
Most organizations struggle to effectively track equipment service schedules, maintenance history, technician assignments, and current equipment status. Without a centralized system, it becomes difficult to know when equipment is due for service. This leads to unexpected breakdowns, higher repair and replacement costs, reduced equipment lifespan, and potential safety risks for users and patients. There is a need for a simple, accessible, and automated solution to manage maintenance proactively.
Objectives
1. To design and implement a user-friendly web-based interface for registering and managing medical equipment details.
2. To develop a maintenance logging module to record service date, technician, work done, and associated costs.
3. To implement automated due date calculation and alert functionality using JavaScript to notify users of upcoming or overdue maintenance.
4. To provide an interactive dashboard for monitoring equipment status, generating summary statistics, and producing maintenance reports.
