Project Abstract

This project is about building a website for Zambia's Northern Circuit. The Northern Circuit covers Northern, Luapula, Muchinga and parts of Central Province. Unlike Victoria Falls and South Luangwa which are well known, the northern part of Zambia is still hidden and not well marketed.

This area has a lot to offer: more than 17 waterfalls like Kalambo Falls (the second tallest in Africa), Lumangwe Falls, Chishimba Falls, Kabwelume and Ntumbachushi Falls. It also has Lake Tanganyika, Lake Bangweulu Wetlands, Kasanka National Park famous for 10 million bats migration, Nsumbu and North Luangwa National Parks, Kapishya Hot Springs, Shiwa Ngandu, Moto Moto Museum, Mwela Rock Paintings, and Livingstone Memorial Site.

Right now, information about these places is scattered and hard to find. This website will bring everything together in one place.

Many tourists don't visit the north because there is no proper website with clear information. They don't know where the places are, how to get there, when to visit, and where to stay. Because of this, places like Chishimba get only about 2,000 visitors a month and Lumangwe only 500. This causes Zambia to lose tourism money.

To build a responsive, attractive and easy-to-use website that promotes the Northern Circuit and helps tourists plan their trip.

1. To provide clear information about waterfalls, wildlife, lakes, and heritage sites.
2. To use HTML5 to structure the website properly.
3. To use CSS3 to make the website beautiful and work well on phones, tablets and computers.
4. To use JavaScript to make the website interactive.
5. To allow visitors to make enquiries and contact local guides.
At the end, this project will produce a modern website that markets the Northern Circuit, helps tourists find information easily, and supports local tourism businesses. It will also show how HTML, CSS and JavaScript can be used to solve a real problem in Zambia's tourism industry.
