Project Abstract

Most Jehovah's Witnesses congregations still keep publisher and accounts records on paper according to the 2025 Service Year Report, that's true for 119,652 congregations worldwide, 3,908 in Zambia, with elders and accounts servants doing the filing by hand. Field Book is here to take that work off paper. Publishers log in and pull up their own monthly report hours, Bible studies, placements without asking anyone. Secretaries and accounts servants get their own portals to manage publisher records, assign territories, and keep the monthly congregation accounts (Forms S-24/S-30). I built the front end in HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, using JavaScript for everything that needs to feel alive: dynamic forms, instant updates, a bilingual English/Bemba interface that switches on instantly. Leaflet.js handles the territory maps. Supabase (PostgreSQL) is the database layer, doing CRUD through its REST API with row level security keeping each role's access separate.
