Project Abstract
The Personal Emergency Preparedness Planner is a frontend application designed to help users organize their preparedness plans for situations such as power outages, severe weather, household emergencies, or other disruptions. Users can create personalized checklists, emergency contacts, important documents lists, and preparation tasks.
The application will be developed using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with JavaScript managing checklist states, progress calculations, reminders, search, and dynamic content. Local Storage can preserve the user's customized checklists and preferences without requiring a database. An innovative Preparedness Score can calculate the percentage of completed preparation items and identify categories requiring attention. The application can also include interactive emergency guides, countdowns, printable checklists, and an offline-friendly interface.
