Project Abstract

Idea: Many restaurants in Lusaka use manual order and billing, causing errors, delays, and loss of sales records. This project proposes a centralized Restaurant Order and Billing Database System.

Objective: To automate order taking, billing, and sales reporting to improve service efficiency.

Methodology: The system uses a relational model with six tables: Restaurant_Table, Staff, Menu, Orders, Order-Details, and Payment. It will be designed using ERD and normalized to 3NF for data integrity, implemented in MySQL with a simple front-end interface.

Expected Outcome: The system will enable digital order entry, kitchen order display, automatic bill generation, and daily sales reports, reducing billing errors and supporting better management decisions for local restaurants.
