Digital Management of Industrial Attachment Placements: A Logbook, Supervision and Assessment System for Zambian Colleges and Universities

ABSTRACT
Many Zambian college and university students start industrial attachment unprepared: they do not know where to apply, how to keep a logbook, or how to turn weeks of work into a report. This project presents Attachment Ready, a static website built only with HTML, CSS and JavaScript that guides a student through the whole experience. A searchable directory of host organisations, held in a JSON file, can be filtered by field, province and programme. An application tracker, a CV builder and a readiness checklist help students prepare. During placement, a weekly logbook form records tasks, skills and reflections, and the browser's local storage keeps the entries on the student's own device. A report builder then turns the logbook into a printable report that can be saved as PDF. With no server or database, the site is free to host, works offline once loaded and keeps personal data private.
