Project Abstract


The Student Information Management System (SIMS) is a web-based application designed to manage and automate the student information processes of educational institutions. The system aims to improve the efficiency and accuracy of student data management, reduce paperwork, and provide stakeholders with timely and relevant information. The SIMS system is designed to store and manage student demographic information, academic records, course enrollment, and grades. The system will provide a user-friendly interface for administrators, teachers, and students to access and update student information. The system will also generate reports and analytics to support data-driven decision-making. The system was designed using a relational database management system (RDBMS) and implemented using a web development framework. The system features a secure login system, data validation, and backup mechanisms to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
The objectives of this project are: To enhance data security and confidentiality, To improve student engagement and satisfaction and To provide real-time information and reporting. The methodology focuses on front-end development using HTML for semantic structure, CSS for page styling and layout arrangement (including adaptable designs for different screen sizes), and JavaScript for adding interactive features such as user input handling and real-time content updates.
